Setup and Usage Instructions

1. Setting Up the Elgato Device

1. Install the Software:

   • Download the Elgato Video Capture software from Elgato Downloads.

   • Follow the installation prompts for your operating system (Windows or macOS).

2. Connect the Device:

   • Plug the Elgato device into a USB port on your computer.

   • Connect your video source (VCR, camcorder, or other devices) to the Elgato device using either the RCA Composite or S-Video cables.

2. Digitizing Video Content

1. Launch the Software:

   • Open the Elgato Video Capture application.

   • Follow the on-screen prompts to name your video and specify the duration of the recording.

2. Configure Video and Audio Inputs:

   • Select the correct input source (Composite or S-Video) using the software.

   • Ensure audio is properly connected. Adjust audio levels so they don’t peak into the red zone.

3. Start Recording:

   • Press Play on your video source to begin playback.

   • Click the Start Recording button in the software.

   • When finished, click Stop Recording or let the software stop automatically based on the specified duration.

4. Trim and Save:

   • Use the built-in trimming tool to remove unwanted footage from the start or end of the recording.

   • Save your file to your preferred location (default: Videos folder on Windows or Movies folder on macOS).
