Setup and Usage Instructions

1. Setting Up the Scanner

1. Install the Battery:

   • Open the battery compartment on the back of the scanner.

   • Insert the rechargeable lithium battery, aligning the positive (+) and negative (-) ends with the markings inside the compartment.

2. Charge the Battery:

   • Use the USB cable and power adapter to charge the scanner via a power outlet or computer.

   • A red LED will illuminate during charging and turn off when fully charged (2–3 hours).

3. Insert the Memory Card:

   • Insert the SD card into the slot on the back of the scanner with the gold contacts facing down. Push until it clicks into place.

2. Scanning Photos

1. Set to Photo Mode:

   • Slide the switches on the top and front of the scanner to the “Photo” position.

2. Prepare the Photo:

   • For loose photos: Place the scanner directly over the photo or use the included photo tray for smaller sizes.

   • Choose the photo size using the Size/Down button until the desired dimensions appear on the LCD screen (e.g., 4"x6", 3½"x5").

3. Scan and Save:

   • Align the photo on the LCD screen.

   • Press the OK button to scan and save the image to the SD card.

3. Scanning Slides or Negatives

1. Set to Film Mode:

   • Slide the switches on the top and front of the scanner to the “Film” position.

2. Load the Holder:

   • Open the appropriate holder (e.g., 35mm, 110, or 126) and insert the film or slide.

   • Close the holder and ensure the film is aligned correctly.

3. Insert the Holder into the Scanner:

   • Slide the holder into the designated slot until the first image appears on the LCD screen.

4. Select Film Type:

   • Use the Type/Up button to choose the correct film type (e.g., 35mm slide, 35mm negative, black & white).

5. Scan and Save:

   • Press the OK button to scan the image, which will save automatically to the SD card.

4. Transferring Files to a Computer

1. Connect the Scanner:

   • Turn off the scanner and connect it to your computer using the USB cable.

2. Activate PC Link:

   • Power on the scanner and select “YES” when prompted for “PC LINK?”

   • The SD card will appear as a removable drive on your computer.

3. Copy Files:

   • Access the files in the “DCIM/100MEDIA” folder and copy them to your computer.
