Meta Quest 3 VR Kit
Welcome to the Georgia Public Library Service (GPLS) Meta Quest 3 VR Kit page. This kit includes four standalone VR headsets that provide immersive experiences for gaming, education, fitness, and social interaction. With no need for external computers or devices, the Meta Quest 3 makes VR easy to use and accessible for everyone.

Setup and Usage Instructions
1. Charging the Headsets
Use the included USB-C cables and adapters to fully charge the headsets before use.
Battery life averages 2.2 hours. For extended sessions, enable Battery Saver mode in settings.
2. Initial Setup
Turn on each headset by holding the power button on the left side until the Meta logo appears.
Ensure the headset lenses are clean.
Turn on the controllers and make sure they are paired by looking to see if they show up int he headset view. If not, pair the controllers by pressing and holding the designated buttons until the LED blinks and connects.
Follow the in-VR setup instructions to connect to Wi-Fi, select language preferences, and define your Guardian boundary.
3. Setting the Play Area
Choose a play area of at least 1.5 x 1.5 meters. Ensure it is clear of obstacles.
Use the controllers to set floor level and boundaries to create a safe space.
For stationary experiences, select “Seated Mode” during setup.
4. Adjusting Fit and Comfort
Loosen the rear fit wheel and place the headset comfortably on your face.
Adjust the lens spacing (IPD) using the lens adjustment wheel on the bottom left side until the visuals are clear.
For glasses-wearing users, use the eye-relief buttons to adjust the lens depth.
5. Navigating VR
Press the Quest button on the right controller to open the universal menu.
Use the joystick to select apps, settings, or games from the library.
Use the triggers to interact with virtual objects.
6. Mixed Reality and Recording
Enable mixed reality to combine virtual elements with the real world.
Record or cast your experiences using the built-in features (requires Wi-Fi setup). For privacy, the headset will blink to indicate recording.

Example Use Cases
STEM Education: Conduct virtual science experiments or explore the solar system.
Fitness Programs: Offer VR yoga, dance, or fitness classes.
Social Engagement: Create interactive group activities using multiplayer VR games or apps.
Safety and Best Practices
Supervised Use: Ensure first-time users, especially children, are supervised. The Meta Quest 3 is recommended for ages 10 and above.
Maintain a Safe Space: Make sure the user does not become disoriented and keep the play area clear of any obstacles. It is best practice to clear an extra few feet around the play area to avoid any accidental collisions. Do not set up under low hanging ceiling fixtures.
Hygiene: Wipe the facial interface and controllers with antibacterial wipes after each use. DO NOT wipe the lenses with any chemicals or abrasive cloths (like paper towels), only a clean microfiber cloth
Troubleshooting Tips
Wi-Fi Issues: Ensure the Wi-Fi network is active and retry connecting in the settings menu.
Controller Pairing: Re-pair controllers via the settings menu if they disconnect.
Visual Problems: Adjust the lens spacing or clean the lenses for better clarity.
Checklist for Returning the Kit
Ensure all 4 headsets, 8 controllers, charging cables, and cases are included.
Wipe down headsets and controllers for hygiene.
